 ====  Craft -> Favor -> Barter -> Sell ==== ====  Craft -> Favor -> Barter -> Sell ====
 +
 +There is an adage of Craft -> Favor -> Barter -> Sell. For players that just want to focus on combat and have a guild member or friend they are playing with focusing on crafting, you might want to follow Favor -> Barter -> Trade -> Sell. But even within this adage there are exceptions, like Barters for Casino Tokens which can get you a lot of early inventory space, so your mileage may vary here. Generally speaking, though, you should probably pick an order of operations specific to your playstyle and stick with it, or else you'll get into inventory troubles quickly.

 I would also recommend storing/saving some items even if you have to store them in your inventory. In fact, here's a good list of items new players will occasionally run into around Serbule and should never sell to NPC vendors because they have value outside of NPC purchasing price by itself: I would also recommend storing/saving some items even if you have to store them in your inventory.    * Tuft of Fur, Beaks - These two items (combined) can be traded to Flia for a free gem worth around 200-500 gold (If you have more Tufts of Fur than Beaks, you can buy Beaks from Way in the Mushroom Cave later on). This item also has its uses for teleportation in the late game as well as can be used like a Rubywall crystal for Crafting-based Work Orders.   * Tuft of Fur, Beaks - These two items (combined) can be traded to Flia for a free gem worth around 200-500 gold (If you have more Tufts of Fur than Beaks, you can buy Beaks from Way in the Mushroom Cave later on).    * Cat's Eyeball, Antler - These two items (combined) can be bartered to Flia for Strange Dirt, an essential ingredient in gardening. Killing Deer is also a recurring quest with Marna so if you are Archery/Fire Magic or have a good ranged damaging ability, it's a great way to get some early Antlers and Favor with Marna so don't miss it.   * Cat's Eyeball, Antler - These two items (combined) can be bartered to Flia for Strange Dirt, an essential ingredient in gardening. -  * Bronze Gear, Tin Gear, Brass Nail, Metal Claw, Silver Spring, & Enchanted Construction Nail - If you purchase the full game, these can be bartered with Dorimir in the Casino basement for Casino Tokens. These tokens can be traded with Qatik for inventory space, so these items are very important for increasing storage space early game. Many of these items are also very needed for late game Carpentry and Gadgeteering. A few are used for high level Giant Bat/Battle Chemistry weaponry.+  * Bronze Gear, Tin Gear, Brass Nail, Metal Claw, Silver Spring, & Enchanted Construction Nail - If you purchase the full game, these can be bartered with Dorimir in the Casino basement for Casino Tokens. Put simply, if you are planning on learning every crafting skill, you might want to consider holding on to some of these, but if you aren't immediately crafting, this might be a situation where Bartering will get you more inventory space quickly, so Bartering can actually be more important than Favor or Crafting.
   * Rubywall Crystal - These will sell to players for 130 to 500 gold each or you can use them yourself in crafting or surveying which are two big early money-making options in the game. Selling a stack of 99 for ~15,000 in work orders is pretty common, sometimes they sell for less or more, though.   * Rubywall Crystal - These will sell to players for 130 to 500 gold each or you can use them yourself in crafting or surveying which are two big early money-making options in the game.    * Eggs - Similar to Crabs these should be used to make easy food which you can eat or sell, but they will also sell for like 20-40 gold to desperate players in Trade chat.   * Eggs - Similar to Crabs these should be used to make easy food which you can eat or sell, but they will also sell for like 20-40 gold to desperate players in Trade chat.

 In the [[serbuledungeons#serbulecrypt|Serbule Crypt]], there's a pathway that will be introducing you to random paintings or pieces of Art. These paintings have a value that can only be properly assessed by someone with a high enough Art Appreciation skill. They also sell very well to Sir Coth in Serbule. In the [[serbuledungeons#serbulecrypt|Serbule Crypt]], there's a pathway that will be introducing you to random paintings or pieces of Art. -There is a Poetry Jam at the Serbule Inn at 2pm EDT, 1pm CDT, 12pm MDT, and 11am PDT every Saturday. You will want to drink alcohol from the Brewing kegs that are set up in the back of the inn and pay attention to how your dancing skills switch around on your skill bar as you follow the dancing directions. You can get some massive buffs from this event that will last a long time. These Poetry Jams on Saturdays also give you Poetry Appreciation. Similar to Art Appreciation, this is necessary for the Synergy Levels it gives you to other skills. Plus the entire inn of players gets buffs both during and after the Jam, so be sure to stick around for the whole thing. You will see some massive crafting buffs if you stay for the whole thing.+There is a Poetry Jam at the Serbule Inn at 2pm EDT, 1pm CDT, 12pm MDT, and 11am PDT every Saturday. Even if you don't have a Poetry Book, someone will bring one for you to borrow/use. If you do attend one of these Jams, be sure not to do any music or dancing after the Jam to prevent players from getting lower quality buffs when getting the crafting/combat buffs after the Jam ends.

 +There's also usually an "Egg Run" after each Poetry Jam, but as a demo player you will not be able to participate in that. It's for high level players usually anyway. I'd recommend not even bothering to go unless you are level 60+ in your combat skills and typically you'll want to be 70+ to survive. It's also kind of hard to get to as a solo, so be sure you are going with a large group if you do go and consider bringing a potion to increase "Max Breath" if you have one to chug right before you go in the portal.

 As you go around learning more about and picking up the mushrooms in Serbule, you'll start to have myconic visions. If you followed Mushroom Jack's conversations with you when you first meet him, you'll notice you're reliving several of the same experiences he had. Eventually you might get enough skill in Myconic that it's time for you to touch a Large Mushroom in Northwest Serbule and see if it will take you somewhere you've never been before. Perhaps somewhere you can get even more Alchemy components... As you go around learning more about and picking up the mushrooms in Serbule, you'll start to have myconic visions.  Now that you know a good bit about what's around in Serbule, consider heading to the [[serbuledungeons|Serbule Dungeons]] section of this guide, or if you just want to learn about more skills available, head to [[serbulehills|Serbule Hills]] or [[eltibule|Eltibule]] to learn about other early-game skills.
